Last week I received a call from Rigo Pest Prevention reminding me to have a termite inspection. I said, it's doubtful whether I have them. The inspection showed evidence of Subterranean Termites in a garage space without any wood. I was shocked! Fortunately, Alec, the Lead Termite Technician was available to do the Termite Extermination. He and his crew knew exactly what to do and did not damage walls with treatment sprays. Both the interior wall and the exterior walls were treated. They were fast and efficient. And, Alec called and said they were ahead of their schedule and offered to do the extermination earlier if we were available. YES! What a relief to take care of this problem. Thank you Alec. Thank you Rigo for reminding me to have this inspection.

Hornet Control FAQs

Where do hornets commonly build nests?
Hornets may build nests in trees, beneath eaves, around rooflines, or inside protected wall voids. Their flight path often helps locate the active opening. A technician can assess the site and determine how the nest can be approached.
Hornets can defend an active nest when it is disturbed, especially in tight or elevated locations. Professional equipment and protective clothing help the technician work at the source. The method is selected after the nest position and surrounding access are reviewed.
The technician first locates the nest and identifies the main entry or flight path. Treatment is then directed at the active source using materials suited to that site. Accessible nest material may be removed after activity has stopped.
Yes, hornets can use gaps around eaves, siding, vents, or other openings to reach a wall void. The visible entrance must be evaluated before treatment. Sealing an active opening too early can redirect insects into another part of the structure.
The surrounding area is checked for secondary activity after the main source is located. Eaves, trees, wall gaps, and other sheltered areas may support separate nests. Any additional activity found is reviewed as part of the service plan.
