About this service
Fly Control Starts at the Breeding Source

Identify the Fly and Source

The technician reviews the type of fly present and checks the areas most likely to support breeding or resting activity.

Inspect Drains and Moisture Zones

Drains, trash areas, organic buildup, and other moisture sources are evaluated because each can require a different correction.

Use Targeted Tools

Drain treatments, traps, and bait placements are selected for the fly type and positioned away from food-preparation surfaces.

Last week I received a call from Rigo Pest Prevention reminding me to have a termite inspection. I said, it's doubtful whether I have them. The inspection showed evidence of Subterranean Termites in a garage space without any wood. I was shocked! Fortunately, Alec, the Lead Termite Technician was available to do the Termite Extermination. He and his crew knew exactly what to do and did not damage walls with treatment sprays. Both the interior wall and the exterior walls were treated. They were fast and efficient. And, Alec called and said they were ahead of their schedule and offered to do the extermination earlier if we were available. YES! What a relief to take care of this problem. Thank you Alec. Thank you Rigo for reminding me to have this inspection.

Fly Control FAQs

Why is fly identification important?
Drain flies, house flies, and fruit flies develop in different materials and locations. Correct identification helps the technician focus on the source instead of only the adult flies. The inspection findings determine whether drains, trash areas, moisture, or another condition needs attention.
Drain-fly service begins by identifying the drain or organic buildup supporting development. The drain area is treated with materials intended for that location, while nearby conditions are reviewed. Plumbing problems or persistent buildup may also need correction by the property owner.
Materials are not placed directly on food-preparation surfaces. The technician can treat nearby drains and position traps in locations consistent with fly behavior and label directions. Food and exposed utensils should be managed according to the preparation guidance provided before service.
The technician may inspect drains, trash containers, moisture sources, food-storage zones, and areas with organic buildup. Fly type and movement help narrow the search. Finding and correcting the breeding source is an important part of reducing recurring activity.
Adult flies may continue appearing when eggs or larvae remain in a drain, trash area, or another breeding source. Removing visible adults does not correct that source. Inspection, sanitation corrections, and targeted treatment work together to interrupt continued development.
