Scorpion Control & Exclusion
If you’ve spotted a scorpion crawling across your floor or hiding in the garage, you’re not alone and you’re not overreacting. Rigo Pest Prevention has protected Tucson families from scorpion infestations for over 17 years. We know where they hide, how they get in, and most importantly, how to get them out and keep them out.
Our desert climate’s rocky soil, warm nights, and monsoon moisture creates the ideal breeding ground for scorpions. Pair that with Tucson’s signature block walls, decorative stone landscaping, and countless micro-cracks in aging stucco, and you’ve got prime scorpion real estate.
One scorpion is rarely just one. They’re nocturnal, silent, and like to hide in cool, dark places. If you see one, chances are its family is nearby—lurking behind walls, under baseboards, or inside garages. The Arizona bark scorpion, in particular, can squeeze through openings no thicker than a credit card.
Arizona Bark Scorpion: Small, light-colored, and venomous. This is the most medically dangerous scorpion in North America. Often found inside homes, it climbs walls and ceilings and is active at night.
Desert Hairy Scorpion: The largest species in Arizona, it looks intimidating but is less toxic. Prefers to stay outdoors, especially under rocks and woodpiles.
Striped Tail Scorpion: More of a yard-dweller, this striped pest is often found in garages, sheds, or crawl spaces.
Quick Scorpion ID Guide:
Not sure which one you’ve seen? Snap a photo and give us a call. We’ll help identify it and let you know if it’s time to act.
We’re not just spraying and hoping. With over 40 years of combined experience in Arizona pest control, our technicians know Tucson homes inside and out.
Store-bought sprays might offer short-term relief, but they rarely get to the root of the problem. Glue traps can confirm you have an issue, but they won’t fix it. Most DIY methods miss nesting areas, ignore the full scope of the infestation, and fail to prevent new scorpions from returning. Real scorpion extermination and exclusion in Tucson takes professional expertise and the right tools.
You can’t control everything, but these small steps make a big difference between service visits.
We’ll inspect your home for any signs of pests and seal off any entry points so they can’t get back in.
